ADVERTISING INTERNATIONAL PUBLIC PROCUREMENTS

Invitations to procurement are publicised through advertisements in the media of beneficiary countries, in the MDA and specialised media for giving notice for these international transactions, including:

  • Tender Opportunities of the European Union: since 1998 the S series of the Official European Union Gazette has been published exclusively in electronic format. It gives details of the contracts put out for procurement by public entities in the European Union in excess of five million euros for contracts for works, 200,000 euros for contracts for services and supplies, 400,000 euros for supply contracts in the water, energy and transport sectors, 600,000 euros for supply contracts in the telecommunications sector and 125,000 euros for contracts falling under the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) regulations.
  • United Nations Development Business: available to subscribers only. This is considered the only business publication containing all the opportunities to supply goods and services to projects financed by the United Nations, government and main development banks (World Bank, International Finance Corporation, Inter-American Development Bank, African Development Bank, Asian Development Bank, Caribbean Development Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development  and North American Development Bank).
  • DG Market: contains information about international contracts entered into all over the world.

The announcements give information about the executing agency, the amount of the contract, the currency in which it is payable, how and where to obtain the necessary documentation to submit proposals, etc.
